The Donkey Kong Wiki uses the [[Project:GNU Free Documentation License|GNU Free Documentation License]]. However, several wikis have ditched this license in favor of the [https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA)] license, including Wikipedia and Fandom (originally Wikia), though the former GNU Free Documentation License can be used like CC-BY-SA for older revisions from before the license change.<ref name=relicense/>

Keep in mind that the license always requires that you provide a '''link to the article''' and a '''list of authors'''. On the Donkey Kong Wiki, we handle this with attribution templates (see below). It is important to note that if the page history exists, a link to it is '''required''',<ref>"I.
